Thats Right, Steve Rogers, the original supersoldier (He came before Solid Snake and the Xfiles series 8!) is back.

Ed Brubakers is the writer and are we excited?

Oh yes.

How he’s coming back is still under wraps but a preview of Reborn is up on Marvel.com.

And where does the leave the newest Cap and long time Russian puppet Bucky Barnes? Well we’ll just have to see!

Before you scamper off to wikipedia I’ll just say that it seems like Marvel are making a brave move opening the title up to a relative unknown BUT it’s looking good with the announced series under the helm of Rick Remender.

And what lies in store for everybody’s favourite doctor? Well Stephen Strange has a solo series out in september entitled Strange.

Again apologies for the lack of updates.
There is once again LOTS of news. especially on the Marvel Front which I will concentrate on.
the HeroCon has seen a good few announcements made by the marvel creatvie team with the announcement that there will be a good few new series starting up in September.
The New Sorcerer supreme has a new series starting up in September. It will Concentrate on the supernatural world going out of control and how the newbie has to sort it. Rick Remender has the helm for this one.

The ex Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange is also getting a new solo mini series in September (Finally!) written by Mark Waid, it will deal with the fallout of him losing his mantle and how he copes, or as pointed out, doesnt cope. Should be an excellent buy.

Spiderman’s old classic villains will return, hopefully to make the Spidey world a bit more enjoyable after the audacity that was “One More Day”.

Moon Knight is getting a new series on his return from Mexico with Gregg Hurwitz and Jerome Opena taking over the duties.Its set to deal with a new personality (how many does the Fist of Khonshu have now?) and a new costume. And by the looks of things he’s getting a new Moon bike.
Awesome.

And Dark Reign will continue with a series of nine one shots entitled Dark Reign:the List which will lead into the next massive over arching storyline.

AND, in the Thunderbolts it looks like the amazing team up of Luke Cage and Iron Fist is back on, just not in the way you would expect.

Hello again, Its been a while but never mind.

Thor has been Cast! The god of thunder is non other than Captain Kirks Father (that was a twist,eh!?) Chris Hemsworth, who is set to raise Mjonir in late 2011. His arch nemesis, the constantly sarcastic Loki will be played by Tom Hiddleston. I wonder if they’ll make him a woman in the potential sequels…

In other News, The Hood’s Dark Reign series kicks off this week, the preview is up on marvel.com. It looks pretty good. I’ve also noticed his original MAX series Blood from Stones is popping up in hardback.

The Mexican Moon Knight storyline also continues in Moon Knight 30#

The Successor to Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme gets one issue closer in New Avengers 53#

And Milligan’s run on Hellblazer continues…

Anything else?

Yes. For those of you that haven’t checked out Deadpool’s solo series do it now. Deadpool 8# (which I’ve FINALLY got a hold of!) is excellent.

Along with the Announcement below, which we can all say is AWESOME, Marvel have announced that it will be produced by Lauren Shuler Donner. Yes, she was involved with Free Willy and the subsequent series that haunts a small part of our childhood but she was also involved with ALL the X-Men movies. So good news.
And…
It’s Marvel studios who have the reins so whooo!

Deadpool gets the go-ahead!

According to reports from a number of websites, Fox has given the green light for a Deadpool film. Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed the Merc with the Mouth in Origins:Wolverine, is expected to reprise the role. This is the very beginning of proceedings, with no writer, directors, etc attached.

There’s no doubt that the portrayal of Deadpool in Origins was a bastardisation of a much loved character. Reynolds was terrific in the little screen time he actually had so i’m psyched about seeing a full length deadpool film. Its good news, although it is to be expected. In the posters for the film, Reynolds plays a prominent part, although he has very little screen time. And after going back to shoot what we now know as the post-credits scene, it was never in doubt that we would see a Deadpool film.

The only thing that troubles me is the fourth wall. Deadpool regularly breaks it and it works brilliantly in panels. But on celluloid, i’m not so sure.

As for the mutliple endings it seems the rumours are true.

It has been reported on various websites that there are going to be different endings for Wolverine. This is not a feature for the dvd, a bonus feature of an alternate ending. Its been reported that different endings are being sent to the cinemas.

I personally think that this is being done to offset the damage created by the leak. There has been no mention of multiple endings until now, a few days before general release. I can’t help but think that this has been quickly rushed together. Although, if it means that we have more Ryan Reynolds/Deadpool, it’s always a good thing!

Here is one of the Posts I “lost”…

Being a massive fan of the late Robert Jordans wheel of Time series this is potentially as exciting as the teaser poster for Cap (any ideas?!). For those of you who haven’t read the 11 books of Robert Jordans masterpiece(s), the wheel of time is a fantasy epic of unmeasureable proportions with a cast list in the hundreds. A phenomenal read, its been snapped up by American comic book publishers the Dabel Brothers, who are currently producing the excellent adaption of the Dresden Files.

So to “Cap” it all off, The Wheel of Time is being made into a Comic series, which will in turn be massive. 12 books into comics? I dont even want to know how much i’ll have to fork out BUT I will.

Can you tell I’m excited?
